DOREEN LEWIS NAMED “BOOK OF YOUR HEART” FINALIST
August 21, 2006 – NEW PORT RICHEY, FL. Local Author Doreen Lewis’s unpublished 2006 novel, Elliot’s Father,
has been chosen as a national Book of Your Heart finalist. The Book of Your Heart is awarded by PASIC (Published
Authors Special Interest Chapter) of Romance Writers of America (RWA), a 9,000 member professional trade
association representing the romance-fiction genre, which is a $1.2 billion industry annually.
The Book of Your Heart is one of many sought-after awards in romance publishing today. The romance novels
entered in this year's contest have been narrowed down to 5 finalists each in 6 categories. The first round was
judged by U.S. booksellers. Finalists advance to the “final round” of competition where they will be judged by editors
of major publishing houses. In the category of “Mainstream Fiction”, the judge is an editor from Pocket Books, a
division of Simon & Schuster.
The winners of the Book of Your Heart Awards will be revealed in September.
Doreen Lewis lives in New Port Richey, Florida. Elliot’s Father is Lewis’s fourth novel. Her third novel, Arm Charm, will
be released in November 2006 by Triskelion Publishing, Inc. and will be available locally at Waldenbooks at Gulfview
Square Mall, Port Richey, or online at all major booksellers. Several local appearances and book signings are
scheduled later this year.
